Membership
Membership to The Cayman Islands Equestrian Federation (CIEF) supports our efforts to grow equestrian sport in the Cayman Islands. Competing memberships are $50 per year and Non-Competing memberships are $50 per year. The membership year starts on September 1st, which corresponds to the CIEF’s horse show season.
Becoming a member offers several benefits:
- CIEF members have access to our visiting equine veterinarian, Dr. Dan Carter, who is one of only 5 vets in the US who are also journeyman farriers. Dan has particular expertise in diagnosing and treating lameness, but can address all of your horse’s medical needs. Dan has access to all of the latest, cutting edge therapies, and is on-island every six to eight weeks, and can also come to the Cayman Islands on short notice for emergencies.
- Competing members can enter any of the CIEF sponsored horse shows during the show season, and can compete for year end awards in both show jumping and dressage.
- Your membership fees also support the equine welfare efforts of the CIEF.

Who should join the CIEF?
Competitive Riders
Do you ride and are you interested in competing at CIEF events? The CIEF hosts a 4-show National Jumping Series, a 4-show National Dressage series, and participates in the CEA Caribbean Dressage Challenge and the CEA Regional Jumping Challenge. Please take a look at our calendar for more information about our shows or email us at info@ciefcay.com.
Non-Competitive Horse Owners
The CIEF has a lot to offer horse owners on the island who do not wish to compete in horse shows access to our visiting veterinarian who can offer state-of-the-art diagnostic, imaging and treatment services for your equine. In addition, all of our members receive a private access code that enables members to receive a 15% discount on most purchases from Riders Warehouse.
Horse Enthusiasts
Membership is intended for anyone that loves horses and wants to keep on top of what is happening in the equestrian world, in Cayman, the Caribbean and elsewhere. We are always looking for volunteers to help run our program, which is a great opportunity for our non-competitive members.
Equine Welfare
Are you a keen animal welfare advocate interested in supporting or assisting with CIEF’s equine welfare initiatives? CIEF has a dedicated Welfare Officer who is always looking for support and assistance.
